One of the most challenging solutions I've implemented for my son has been putting him on a gluten-free, casein-free diet (GF/CF). That means no wheat and no dairy. This has not been an easy task, to say the least, but there have been tremendous payoffs in eye contact, behavior, language and overall demeanor.
If your child is anything like mine, he/she probably already has a rather limited diet. Going GF/CF is a whole different way of eating, and great taste is sometimes hard to come by in the limited products currently available at most grocery stores.
That's why I'm providing tried and true, Mothercub-tested recipes for you to try at home. Come back to this page often for delicious and nutritious gluten-free, casein-free recipes, as well as hard-earned quick tips.
Easy Pepperoni Pizza
Crispy Pork Cutlets
Beef Empanadas
Tip of the Week:
Hummus makes a great snack and is a great source of protein. Use it with plain tortilla chips and call it "chips and dip". My son's favorite is Red Pepper Hummus, but you can usually find other flavors at your local grocery store.
